Well-spoken words bring satisfaction; well-done work has its own reward. -Proverbs 12:14 MSG
So today we are officially moving across the state to the west coast of Florida...Naples to be exact. Many new things with us and we are excited! As I began to pack a few weeks ago, I came across a sweet letter, from my dad, about marriage and how important it is to invite Jesus DAILY into your marriage by prayer and reading the Word together. He had written it some years back to spur us on to a Godly marriage. He copies it and gave it to both me and my sister.
I was so encouraged as I re-read aloud the letter to my husband. It reminded of truth laced with wisdom from an over 40 year marriage that has Christ at the center. It told of the fruit reaped if we didn't give up and how beautiful it can be.
Why do I share this with you today? Because as we move forward in life sometimes the Lord will bring to memory truth shared in past. Sometimes a word aptly spoken will burn brightly, in the lives of your children, even years after its left your lips (or pen!). Today I praise all of you parents continuing to speak truth even when it seems to fall on deaf ears or as though your kids are unappreciative for it! We are! And so is Christ! He sees every act done in the name of Christ with the hope of breathing life into your child! Well done good and faithful....don't give up! Fruit will ripen and harvest if you don't get weary!
Thanks dad for being a phenomenal parent who spoke truth unashamed and I am reaping the benefits because of it!!!
Do you feel as though your words are falling on deaf ears? They hear it all...be patient! It's coming!
Pray Christ gives you the right words to say by His Spirit.
Wise words bring many benefits,
and hard work brings rewards. -Proverbs 12:14 NLT
