"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 (NIV)
God wants us to practice of worry-free living. We do this by taking every thing to the Lord in prayer. Not some things, but every thing! Take your children, your job, your possessions, your friends, your finances and your church to the Lord. When we do this, we can live a worry free life and rejoice in the Lord.
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" Philippians 4:4 (NIV)
This is a very simple and self-explanatory verse. You don't need multiple translations or a study bible to help you understand what Paul is saying to us. Yet, its simplicity, how often we forget to just "rejoice in the Lord." Be mindful of what it doesn't say: Rejoice in your children, rejoice in your job, rejoice in your possessions, rejoice in your friends, rejoice in your finances, rejoice in your church. It's simply, "Rejoice in the Lord." Real happiness only comes from God through Jesus. So, don't worry, be happy!
