Be Watchful

"Summon your power, O God; show us your strength." (Psalm 68:28)

We had a prowler in our neighborhood last night who took a few things from one of our unlocked cars in the driveway. Talking to neighbors, it seems he managed to open about six cars without having to break in and therefore, we were taken.

It makes me think about our hearts and our minds when we're on the verge of thinking that everything is safe and we're in a good place in life. We have Christian friends, we go to church, we pray and read His word...but we may let our guard down thinking that Satan is prowling around in someone else's life. Not ours.

But oh how sneaky he is--like a prowler in the night waiting for some trusting soul to let their guard down. He waits for just the right time to lurk into our thoughts with worry or sadness. He attacks the weak and vulnerable and is made glad by the darkness because that's where he does his best work.

Don't let him!

God has his mighty hand in every detail if we will just call on Him! He knows where the devil crawls around and waits and He will be right there every time if our hope is in Him.

Dear Lord,
I pray that our guard will not be down in facing the enemy. You know the places where we need to watch and pray and be more aware of where Satan is trying to beat us down. Please go ahead of us and prepare a way that will keep us safe from harm and danger and guard our hearts.
In Your Name,
Amen.
