Tonight my son will embark on a new adventure. It is one he planned and asked for. He challenged me and I gave in. He is excited and so am I. A few nights ago he struggled to fall asleep and it was was past bed time. My husband had just gotten in from his "late night" and had brought us home our "in-house date night" dinner. As we took our first bite, of Chipotle, we noticed some eyes peering around the corner. My oldest was intriqued by our meal, and asked if he could stay up late and have a meal with us someday soon.
So a note went up on the coffee pot to make a "date" to hang with our oldest. And...tonight is the night. He is super excited and honestly...so am I. Such a simple request that will follow with a special memory being made. He feels special and set apart that he gets to do something fun with Mommy and Daddy.
When was the last time you allowed your child to make a "date" with you?
Create special moments that etch special memories in the bank of your child's mind. Things they will remember, seeming to cost little monetarily, but make a huge deposit in your child's eyes.
