Hope and I recently spotted a car that was burning so much oil
it looked as if it where about to blow up.
What are the effects of pollution?

James 1: 27 says we
are “to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
The New Living Translation says, “Keeping yourself free from the
world’s evil influence.”
What is keeping moms
from being “free?” What is it we feel we
HAVE to do? Where is it we feel we Have
to go? Why are we bound to these man-made
“laws of mothering?”
How are we as
Christian moms being polluted by the world?
I believe it can be a very gentle, seductive even acceptable stack of
“good things.” Are you overcommitted at
your church? Are you over attached to
healthy food and exercising? Are you
worrying about the right schools for your children (which may not be an issue
for three years?) Are you ashamed by the decisions your older or adult children are making?
I think one form of pollution
is comparison. This past week, I have had four dear friends tell me they were
trying to be like other moms. None had
set out to be like their “friend moms.”
They subconsciously found themselves imitating the qualities they
admired.
Imitating is just
that…an imitation. Trying to do what is right is admirable. Learning from others good qualities and the
converse is a blessing. But today
Moms? Be free! Be who God made and
designed you to be.
